Mizoram University is a central university located in Aizawl, Mizoram, India. It was established in the year 2001 with the aim of providing quality higher education to the people of Mizoram and the surrounding regions. The campus of Mizoram University is spread over an area of 978.1988 acres and is situated in the scenic surroundings of the Mizo Hills. NIT Mizoram was established in 2010 in Mizoram to impart education, research & training leading to B.Tech, M.Tech& Ph.D. degrees. An Act of Parliament has declared it an Institute of National Importance(INI). Here the students are admitted through the All India Entrance Exam- Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main).The Institute has seven departments: Basic Science & Humanities, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research.
